DRYCHOSIS

Condition experienced by one who is devoid of all substances and subsequently left with his/her mental faculties, uninterrupted, unabated.  Purest form of psychosis, with zero fuel, zero distractions, just plain, ole crazy.  Drychosis has affected a portion of the population that at one point or another has found themselves under the influence, and then finds themselves "sober".  This influence can be a one of or a combination of the following (this list is not conclusive):  alcohol, drugs, thoughts of the past, thoughts of the future, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, vertigo, dreams, expectations, hopes, optimism, pessimism, realism, surrealism, love, hate, prejudice, envy, lust, hunger, pain, goals, intuitions, and many other substances both concrete and abstract.

To suffer from drychosis, one may experience a sense of loneliness, loss, or depression.  This depression is a result of unchecked imbalances of sertonin and dopamine.   Symptoms such as uncontrolled impulsiveness, extreme boredom, sense of serenity, sense of delirium, suicidal tendencies are not uncommon of those suffering from drychosis.

Drychosis can affect ones work, either increasing its effectiveness and allure, or decreasing its appeal and ending in true professional malaise.   Drychosis is a dichotomy of what is seemingly healthy and emotionally chaotic.   After all, with billions of neurons left to their own defenses......extraordinarly events ensue.

The treatment for drychosis seems straightforward, and "textbook", depending on which textbook you are attempting to write.   Simply return to the substance of choice that allowed the drychosis to submerge itself into your conscious.  The problem with this deceivingly simple treatment is, once a brain ventures into the "sober" condition.....altered neurotransmitters, signals, and dendritic bodies once malformed, will take on a different shape as a response to the altered environment.   Drychosis is not a condition that is cured rather one that evolves, the severity modified, in one way or another.   It is not likely that one will ever be rid of this particular drychosis as long as the substances are avoided.   So that is what I hear.  But the truth is,  there is no ridding of any and all substances that interfere with our purest form of thought.....drychosis is a dream, it is a nightmare, and experienced by all the continue to participate in the activitiy of breathing.
